"Liquor" has been used in a new british film "bigga than ben". Its about two russian guys ripping off london and fucking themselves in the process.
We were invited to the pre preview showing at 20 century fox on Soho square. Almost all of us made it, dan held on to the pain and staggered in rather pale, myself and dom looked almost normal, if not for the shameful scabies i seem to have come attached to (currently residing upon my face). Mr mills had a tom cruise worthy crash of confidence, too haunted by the mornings vicious assault upon the roxy indie disco to attend.
all seated comfortably the film began. No bombs, explosions or heroic murderings in the first five minutes, (i was concerned) but unfounded were my vexed minds quandries. This was a film, not a movie. So i sat back and thought of the cash.
The film was fucking brilliant, takes you from place to place and back around the one way system. Rossgear thumgs horizontally dancing erect.
My mate, who frequentes the odd respectable drinking house with my fine self on ocassion, was sat in a small room talking jazz and nu jazz with me upon one such evening and i happened to mention to him our music was due to be used in a film. Ever interested my fine comrad enquired what is the name of said film. I replied thusly.
"i don't know, however i am privy to the knowledge of theme within the motion picture, it follows the tail of two russians fucking over england"
to which he followed...
"bigga than ben, im in that fil as a principle role"
what are the fucking odds?
ahhhh, kafar

Thanks to everyone who attended on Saturday 31st of June at the Canteen in Barrow in furness. Although technically speaking the majority of our set was on the dredded 1st july. Appologies to anyone who had to leave to get busses home pre the gear onslought. If there was any other reason for your depature then no appologie is given.
We had a wicked time and we hope you did too.
Thanks for everyone who held up dom after his stage dive, and to the girl with the shattered nose 'i hope it gets better soon'.
Video of the last Canteen gig probally about a year ago is being screened by our legal team and will hopefully be up on the net shortly.

gear were the first band to play glastonbury festival 2007. It comenced on thursday at 11.45 on the leftfield stage. We thought it was a bit of a shitty time to play but how wrong were we. Being nothing else going on at the festi at that time everyone seemed to turn up. Using the gearometer we counted 5000 or so bodies. (if you were there tell us how many you thought, but remember the gearometer is never wrong).
Everyone seemed to enjoy especially after ring of fire when pete (nob ed) launched his bass in to the crowed. When asked did he get the bass back, he simply replied "yes, both bits" (twat). Dan also descrietly had his guitar stood on (not very rock and roll but much the same effect as pete).
Post gig i realised i left all the underpants and socks i owned in the world in the changing room (bastard) if anybody see's them please return them to
gear p.o. box 65, london. I'm currently sat in my swimming trunks.
We arrived friday to Strummerville to play a lttle gig for the strummercamp. I have to admit i was a little drunk, so found it quite amussing when pete unpacked his stuff to realise he'd left all his pedals at leftfield stage the day previous (no he did'nt get them back). so armed with one of my back up pedals we got to work. thanks to devilin love of alabama 3 for singing along with us to ring of fire, and to rock hard kenny for performing the buzzcocks classic with us.
more glastonbury adventures to come.

attack of the killer hill
Date: 29/05/2007
My old running coach 'yes i used to be healthy' always told us 'attack the hill, the hill is your enemy', so taking some of his advice whilst playing at a party at the hill in cumbria we did just that. Thanks to everybody who didn't drop me whilst i crowd surfed to my own band, oh and thanks for not dropping my guitar as well. good time had by all methinks. and remember everyone, don't argue with me ever cause you know i can hit you in the face with a potato curveball from 30 yards .
