As part of the all new 'Gear - its a virtual band' brand we are looking for some new recruits.

Gear know they are the best band in the world - give them 3 days and a bag of beans and they will tell you why - but do you think YOU could be a Mock Star™?!!!

We want all you Gearites and Gearettes to send in your application form with a suitable picture (remember your mum will see it), your personals, credentials, and your persuader (thats a few sentences on why you should be in the band, Baz) and your mission statement (thats what you will do once you are in the band, Baz).

Use the template on the Gear boy’s blog section as a guide but dont let it limit you!

Every week we will have a new honorary member residing on our site, writing blogs / whitty anecdotes. Play your cards right and you might even get some Gear goodies... probably not but you never know...


Remember, Gear are the final judges of the new members - use your imagination and your narrative skills wisely. Or thou shall not enter the Bag of Gear.....

Gear return to the canteen to headline one of the biggest nights in the barrow venues history.

its going to be an absolute mash up! on stage 11.15 possibly a whole hours set.

the gear boys will almost be sure to be seen on the boat at some ailly time in the evening so we will see you there!

After the absolutley stonking gig at Bar monsta on the 9th. gear will now set out and return once again in aid of the kids to Play a FREE gig! at 93 feet east.

its Tuesday 19th june in the brick lane venue and we will be on stage at about 9.30 .

Entry is FREE! It is still for the charity 'rock for youthmusic' so please give genourously in the buckets provided if you do have any spare change.

For those avid news readers amongst you, you will be pleased to here that after a brief shoe amnesty my shoe has returned and is in pretty good condition. The cobbler has kept it in over night just to be on the safe side. The right shoe is very excited about the imminent reunion with the left. I think I will give them some alone time.

I'm not bitter I don't want revenge but if you see a one legged man (approx size 10 ) with no shoe on his only foot and a beard then it was probably him. Bastard. (beard optional)

Just to let you know, despite recent reports from within some circles, the Gear boys are not dead. Nor have they been embroiled in the recent uprising in the Ugandan Mabira forest (from where 10% of Newington Green's water supply is piped from - fact).

Despite deforestation endangering their hydration levels it seems Gear have been blissfully unaware, disco dancing the weeks away under the cover of darkness. Bitching, swaggering, swearing - the general attributes normally associated with lesser bands such as Dustbin's Shitbisto - and who can blame them?

"Why?", I hear you cry.
Well, “Because they will be opening Glastonbury this year!”.

So once they've sobered up they'll be hitting the rehearsal rooms hard in a study of concentration not seen since the Dan tried to open a tin of corned beef with a hack-saw.
And don’t think Gear will be leaving you out – there will be a chance for you to add your own personal touch to Glastonbury proceedings…..

Two things you should know...
1. Ring of Fire is sung before every Liverpool Football match
2. Gear have recorded their own version of the Johnny Cash classic

And, would you believe it, the powers that be at Liverpool FC have taken our version deep into their bosom. So much so, in fact, that they will be playing it this Saturday 31 March before their game against Arsenal. And hopefully every other Anfield tussle from now on...

Watch this space very closely over the next few weeks to find out about downloads and ringtone versions of said track.

In other breaking news last Tuesday I lost my left shoe. (Description- brown, looks like a shoe). Anyone with information, please get in touch in confidence.

Gear will be making a welcomed returned to Glastonbury this year. Oh yes. And it will be bigger and better than 2005. How?, you ask. Well, we're not sure yet, but trust us on this one.

And remember tickets go on sale this Sunday 1 April at 9.00am. So don't get pissed and sleep in - get pissed and stay up all night. Failure will not be tolerated.
