Happy New Year to all you gear fans, car maintenance types and junkies!
The gear boys had a busy festive period but we have managed to track them down for their biggest interview in 2008....
So gear, may i call you gear?
Dom: Yes. Get on with it I am hungry.
ah right you are... So, gear, firstly may I say Happy New Year to you all! 2007 is over and it was a stonker by all accounts. What were your highlights boys?
Ross: Dan pissing himself. Me not soiling myself.
Dan: Thanks ross, appreciate it. Factual and profound as always. I would probably say Glastonbury, but then again teaching Baz how to use a washing machine was pretty good.
Pete: You pissing yourself was quite funny though Dan. I wasnt even there and i thought it was hilarious.
Dan: Fuck off Pete
(Pete laughs raucously as Bears is baited)
Now-now kiddy-winks. Dom how about you? What was your big thing of 2007?
Dom:Christmas dinner.
Right, moving on. What can we look forward to in the coming months? What can your average gear fan get excited about?
Ross: Fucking loads of stuff.
Pete: We are doing a lot of stuff in schools, Up and Coming in Barrow later this month, there is a possibility of some more live gigs in schools later in the year. We are also getting a lot of interest from Europe now but we are keeping that under wraps for now...
Dan: We'll probably release summat as well.
Dom: Yeah, nice one.
Highly exciting stuff there then. Europe eh? Any clues?
Dom: That big thing over the sea full of foreigners.
Dan: Possibility that we will be over there a few times this year. Thats all I can say. You sir, are on a need to know basis.
ah, the impenetrable inner circle that is gear....
Well guys, I cant say how much I have enjoyed the last 6 years of geared-up shit. A lot has changed; record label, management, combined mass, equipment, attitude, drinking stamina…. And a lot hasn’t; cleanliness, song structure, dress sense. May I ask: how has it all stayed together?
Ross: Absolutely no fucking idea!
Pete: I would have to conclude that during most periods of the last six years, even the last six minutes, Ross has definitely not understood anything. The man has a twisted mind - he definitely does not have any idea of what is going on. And I must also conclude that if we, as gear, had not colluded to keep Ross that sedated gear most certainly would not have survived.
Dan: For the benefit of the tape Ross did attend said meeting ‘Spike Ross repeatedly’. It was a unanimous decision.

We would all like to say a massive congrats to Trev and Katie in supplying gear with a brand new fan. The youngest, most hardcore fan there will ever be. Good work guys.
And yes those rumours have been confirmed: they have decided to call the baby Bellson Bellringer in honour of gear's impending single release... and we are honoured to accept the little one into the family with open arms.
Bellson's christening (first gig) is yet to be confirmed but rest assured avid gearmusic loggeroners you will be the first to know....

It’s been advertised that we will be playing in Barrow on the 26th August; this is actually the first we have heard of this and are really sorry but we can’t play it due to prior commitments.
Really sorry if you have made any plans. We will be playing in Barrow soon with the highly anticipated release of ‘Ring of Fire’, so watch this space.

Mock Star™ Has Arrived!

After much deliberation, to-ing and fro-ing, tossing…. and not much else, Mock Star™ has given gear a new member to play with!
Hailing from Gloucestershire Lucy, aka Brink!, has joined the rookie ranks and will be posting her finding in her heartfelt blogs over the coming weeks. She is a fantastic addition to the band and you can see what she has been up to in her blog section....
If you have however been living in a hole for the last few weeks, Mock Star™ is open to anyone or anything who would like to join gear. If you so wish you should send in a CV and their vitals to dan@gearmusic.co.uk and you could be the next lucky player.
So far it has been incredibly hard to separate the talent, as it were, and it is a pleasure and a massive compliment to have so many quality fans (male, female, and marine species) wanting to partake in the festivities.
Please keep them coming in. There is no time limit and all top entries will be shown. Mock Star™ is a being, and will not be a slave to time.....

Grove Park Festival

That time is upon us - Grove Park Festival beckons this weekend (Sat. Aug 4th)and it is dead set to be a cracker.
This years line up is full of new up and coming bands from the south-west playing all day (12-8pm).
Gear will be joining as south-westerners for the day playing at 5.50pm.
The line is incredibly strong donning such soon to be massives as Sister Morphine, Eleven Eleven, Macgyver and the formidable The Sketch (who are definitely not to be missed by anyone with ears).
And the aftershow party is a legend in itself. Make sure you get your selves down there. More details at:
